Over the years, many HISEC systems have been installed and have run perfectly reliably over that time. Sooner or later, however, many end users want to add extra functionality to their system.
Access and Intrusion Management Software (AIMS) was the original HISEC software to provide Management functions for Access Control and Intrusion (based on the CU30). This software is now a legacy product.
ThorGuard Management Software (TGMS) is more modern software which provides Management functions for Access Control and Intrusion (both ThorGuard and CU30) as well as configuration functions for the ThorGuard CU. In addition, TGMS also offers the following benefits:
- Simpler site configurations using multiple ‘Domains’ rather than local and remote sites.
- SQL 2008 database to replace the older ‘Codebase’
- Image badging and encoding
- Compatible with a wider range of operating systems, including Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008
- Video client integration
To facilitate upgrades from AIMS to TGMS, a utility is available which will help by automating much of the conversion. This utility imports the AIMS data, converts it to the relevant format and automatically populates the SQL database in the replacement TGMS software.
The conversion tool has been designed to be as straightforward to use as possible, with graphical screens to display the relevant information.
